In this district fishing is the biggest activity, where by Moree lands about 2,000 tonnes of fish monthly at its local fishing harbour, this industry, however, is seriously hindered by the lack of cold storage facilities in the area.
Therefore, huge potential is available for private investors setting up cold storage facilities, which, in turn, would create even more opportunities in the area of fishing itself.
